Michael Collins

Michael is a Partner within our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.

Michael joined the firm as a Trainee Solicitor in 2014 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2017. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) and completed a Masters Degree in International Law and Human Rights Law (LL.M).

Michael advises clients in all aspects of Litigation and Dispute Resolution. He has experience in Mediations, Arbitrations and has advised on matters in the District Court, Circuit Court, High Court, Commercial Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

He has considerable experience in Debt Recovery and enforcement of Judgments, Landlord and Tenant disputes, GDPR and Data Protection, Contractual disputes, Planning Litigation, Cross-border Litigation, Intellectual Property disputes and Personal Injury matters.

Michael also advises clients in Intellectual Property Law matters such as, assisting clients in relation to Irish, European and International Trade Mark registrations.

Relevant experience includes:
• Assisting in Data Privacy Litigation concerning the transfer of data to third countries.
• Acting for a Receiver in obtaining a Mandatory Injunction directing the occupier of a large commercial warehouse to deliver up vacant possession of the premises, and obtaining an Order for Attachment and Committal for failure to comply with the Court Order.
• Acting for Landlords in defending Court proceedings seeking Relief against Forfeiture.
• Acting for a client in securing a Mareva Injunction restraining the dissipation or removal of assets from the jurisdiction.
• Acting for a Landlord in Judicial Review proceedings concerning the validity of Planning Enforcement Notices.
• Acting for a client in Supreme Court Appeals in relation to unauthorised development.
• Acting for Landlords in Arbitrations in relation to service charge disputes, contractual interpretation and the alleged Surrender of a Lease by Conduct.
• Advising and acting for a trade association in an Opposition to the registration of a Trade Mark.
• Acting for clients in matters concerning the Consumer Credit Act 1995 and the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980.
